Energy saving memory inserts from Elpida

Chips that follow the DDR2 standard are intended by the manufacturer for smartphones and tablets.

Elpida has unveiled its latest 2 Gbit DDR2-compliant memory chips, developed primarily for smartphones and tablet PCs. These 40 nm chips have a size of 10,5 × 11 mm and an operating voltage of 1,2 volts. Their data throughput is 8,5 GB / s. The first samples are expected in August, while the company wants to start mass production in the fall.
