ATi FireGL V7350

ATI has launched a video card with 7350GB of memory called the FireGL V1. First of all, we have to state that this card is not made for players, but for design and development.

ATI is increasingly looking to break into this market, which is currently dominated by the NVIDIA Quadro product line. This time, the Canadian manufacturer has every chance to do so with a product called FireGL V7350, which can perform 84 billion floating-point operations per second. This equates to 3 3 GHz Pentium 4 floating point computing power.

The heart of the card is an R520 core, which can also be found on the ATI Radeon X1800 series. This is why there are great similarities to the X1000 series (for example, the layout of the PCB is similar as well as the cooling). There is also little difference in speeds, as the GPU operates at 600 MHz and the memory effectively at 1300 MHz. Unfortunately, it doesn't support CrossFire, so you can't build really fast systems with it. In contrast, the new members of the competition, the NVIDIA Quadro series, are able to work in pairs.

The price of the product is about 2000 US dollars, ie 400 forints.
