ASUS UL30A - the limitless possibilities

When we take the machine out of its black cardboard box, our first impression is that it is cold. No it’s not unfriendly cold, but it feels like snow. The reason is simple, the entire cover is brushed aluminum.

The second thought while lifting the machine is: oh, but thin so I don’t drop it. This feeling can be felt by anyone who has already grabbed some very thin apple machine. It is already questionable whether a working computer can fit in such a large space. Anyway, the weight of the machine can't really be called weight, with a battery and a half kilos, which is still bearable to carry, throwing a cat is a bit much. Of course, we would be amazed at the sticky man who would want to toss a cat with such a machine, if only because the cat is a phenomenal creature, as of course ASUS is noti.

Let's take a quick look around before opening the machine! The bottom is, of course, plastic. There are no connectors on the front, the indicator LEDs and the grille of the two speakers are located here. Speaking of speakers, it should be noted that this is perhaps the weakest link in the machinery after investigation. Of course, we’re not saying it’s useless, we’re just saying that you know exactly what you would expect from a sound generator of this size. To be sure, it is recommended to get a right earpiece to watch movies so that a great picture can be accompanied by great sound.

There are three connectors on the left. They line up with a USB 2.0 port, an HDMI connector and finally a D-SUB, meaning a traditional monitor output. The rear tract is completely occupied by the battery, so there is no connector there. However, since the battery has been discussed, we describe the promise of the ASUS UL series that these machines will have a battery life of 12 hours. The tests will then tell you what that is, that is, the real value of 12 hours. Now let’s get back to the outside quickly, let’s see the right side of the machine where we find seven openings. These include a power connector, an Ethernet connector for wired networks, two USB ports, a microphone input and a headphone output, and finally a card reader.
