ASUS Lamborghini VX5 - Inspired by speed

First of all, we would start by saying that the ASUS Lamborghini VX5 is currently (and probably will remain) available in two different color covers, black and white. Our subject is not the first Lamborghini, this is already the fifth revision, for which this time the latest and limited edition sold Blowout lines had a pronounced effect. In our case, the white version needed itself not with poor efficiency, but the black is also very nice. The VX5 is typically the machine that impresses not only in its unity but also in its details.

Don’t even rush too much, let’s take a moment at the LCD cover. The natural thing is the Lamborghini logo, which is shifted slightly upwards on the vertical axis, which in itself gives the basic tone, but the silver ASUS logo is not left behind at the bottom either. The cover is like the hood of a car. It is characterized by angular, characteristically broken lines, the thin black lattice elements create the effect of air intakes. The chrome effect of the line of the hinges evokes the chrome decorative edges of the glass surfaces of the cars. One thing is for sure, even when folded, the VX5 fits perfectly into the feel of a Lamborghini, and it feels at first glance we’re not dealing with an average machine. Then after a while we get to open the display, then the second stop-drop is reached.

When folded, the previous models weren’t ugly either, but inside they might not always or not fully be able to recreate the atmosphere of a sports car. The VX5 is now definitively changing that. The display frame also preserves the style with details such as square-shaped supports and a webcam surrounded by a black grid with a chrome strip. The line of the hinges is also chrome-plated on the inside, it forms a small boundary line between the display side and the keyboard side of the machine, let's move on to this part! Some may complain that we have not encountered metal surfaces so far.

No need to be scared, cool elegance also shows up here, with the use of a graphite gray brushed aluminum frame. At the top, the speakers feature the already familiar black grid + chrome frame style, including a four-member touch-button control bar (auto light sensor, keyboard light control, touchpad on and off, Power4Gear eXtreme profile modification), below them a type-marked aluminum trim. The keyboard has been moved slightly to the right, and the keys have been given the rounded design typical of ASUS lately.

The keyboard is demanding overall, we didn't run into any problems using it. To the left of the keyboard is a power button and a profile toggle button to choose between High performance and TwinTurbo (strongest, overdrive setting). These elements light up with the same white light as the rows of LEDs placed under the keyboard. There are also three information LEDs on this interface, the top two of which indicate the status of the protections, while the bottom two indicates the activity of the hard disks.

The area of the keyboard is closed from the bottom by a very beautiful Automobili Lamborghini inscription, which will not forget the brand, hence the dominance of the ceramic button tapestry and the leather-stitched surfaces. This is even led up by a slightly V-shaped chrome line that extends across the boundaries of the touchpad. The sleek page, headed with some sort of crosshairs, also has a side-by-side scroll bar, with the two ceramic keys enclosing a fingerprint reader at the bottom. Black leather cushions on both sides provide comfort for our arms. That’s pretty much all that can be said about the design and features of the ASUS VX5. Although, as we know, beauty is always a matter of taste, the acquaintances and family members we interviewed were all chilled and appreciative when they were able to pick up the poisonous luxury notebook.

Not only is the design beautiful, the assembly is also quality, as you would expect from a model in this category, if someone doesn’t get it, let’s address the question of what else you want on the machine or what you want to see differently. Our consensus is that this time (as so often often) ASUS engineers have done an excellent job and managed to create a truly Lambós-Reventón machine, not only in the outside areas but also inside. Of course, our site isn't over yet, we're just past the more exciting parts, so let's see what each side of the VX5 hides!

The back of the machine also got some connectors, the charger socket, the RJ-45 LAN connector and a USB were also placed on the right edge. The rest of the space is filled by the otherwise not very large battery. We can't talk about congestion from the front either, we only find a three-position slider with which wireless connections can be controlled manually, by which we mean turning WLAN and Bluetooth on or off.

The left side of the machine is much richer in content, with a D-Sub VGA output and a sizeable ventilation grille (needed) from above, followed by a USB and an antenna connector, followed by FireWire, eSATA and HDMI. The bottom of the page is closed by the card reader and ExpressCard slot. There are not many things left on the right side in terms of connectors, the three jack plugs and two more USB 2.0 ports have been replaced here. Highlight the optical drive, which is a Blu-ray player + DVD burner combo, so you can easily display 1080p blue laser content on the FULL HD resolution display. You can see that the design has been noticed here as well, the pages are cut by white stripes, which color also stretches to the bottom of the machine…

Where, by the way, in addition to the ventilation grille surfaces, bases and battery, there is an interesting speaker-shaped element, which we first assumed was a "subwoofer", and then the information from the manufacturer revealed that it was only a design element, a small amount of ventilation. surface. For safety’s sake, the creators have also placed a pretty ASUS Lamborghini VX5 inscription here, so we don’t forget what we’re dealing with when we examine the chassis. We also learned clearly from the identification sticker on the bottom of the machine that it is again a PR Sample, i.e. we need to say our usual rhyme again. The final store version may differ from the test sample in some respects, such as performance, minor components, battery life.
