AMD Catalyst 11.10 forerunner has been released in honor of Battlefield 3 Beta

AMD Catalyst 11.10 forerunner has been released in honor of Battlefield 3 BetaDuring yesterday, we reported that Nvidia is launching an open beta of Battlefield 3 [here] has released a hotfix driver, and today AMD has released a new driver for the same purpose.

The September driver with the latest WHQL certification will also be released this week, with the usual version number 11.09, but before that AMD released a driver package in a so-called "Preview" state, which is a precursor to the October release. The reason this was so important was to start open beta testing for Battlefield 3. This will take place between September 29 and October 10, so AMD arrived with the package in time, so both manufacturers will start testing on Thursday with fresh drivers.
