These machines have finally reached an acceptable price range!
The cross-water was removed from me many times because of the Intel N4xxx proci machines, more precisely because of my tests written about them. It was a recurring finding that I shouldn’t persuade people to machines that are good for nothing because they are WEAK.
Well, I keep to this day that these machines are not weak. These machines are intended for a target audience who do little else on their computer other than surf the web, email, Facebook, or even word processing. They don’t edit images, they don’t cut video, they don’t design 3D objects.
In other words, these machines are intended by the manufacturers for the average user.
The processor isn’t really steel, but the machines get a decent amount of memory, usually 8GB, and the storage is also based on a fast SSD with 128 or 256GB of capacity, so these are fully live configurations. And I reject the unusable only because two such machines are in daily use in the immediate family, which means that they are not unusable.
However, time moves on, hardware also develops, fortunately, old irons usually become cheaper and new ones come at affordable prices. This is also what happened with Intel's entry-level Celeron family, where the "old" N4xxx processors were replaced by the newer N5xxx series, already based on the Jasper Lake core. We received several versions of these as well, but I think the N5100 will be the one we will see the most.
If we just look at the paper form a lot of everything hasn’t changed, leaving four cores, one thread per core. The clock has risen, manufacturing technology has evolved, and in recent practice it means that circuits are already being made at a bandwidth of 10 nanometers. That is, the chip size will be smaller, consumption will be lower, heating up and the turbo clock can be raised a bit.
In short, we get a more advanced, faster, lower-consumption procit at the same price as the old one.
But these notebooks based on the new proc will also have other interesting details. True, not much, but what is, is essential. The displays remain pieces based on IPS technology, mostly in FHD resolution, varying in size depending on the machine.
On the other hand, the amount of memory increases from 8 to 12 GB compared to older machines. This is also due to the fact that the processor is newer and the integrated memory controller now handles more memory than its predecessor. The integrated VGA controller has also evolved, with factory data showing up to a 100 percent increase in performance over the previous processor generation.
Another important novelty is that these computers already have new technology for wireless connections. For example, Bluetooth is already 5.1, but in the Alldocube machine, wifi is already the latest ax standard, which means that WiFi6 is already working here!
Computers, however, have not changed much at first glance. The very thin, attractive design of the house remained, and the extremely small weight remained. The ALLDOCUBE GTBook, for example, weighs just 1,2 kilograms, which means the structure is really lightweight.
And one more interesting thing at the end. Since this is really a new machine, we no longer find a pre-installed version of Windows 10 on Windoes, which can be used with lightning speed once turned on.
Of course, the price is not insignificant either. As I wrote, the new generation chip is essentially not causing a price increase, rather the price of the old machines is going down a bit. However, the difference is not very significant, so it is worth buying newer machines.
