The Toshiba Blu-ray player is indeed coming

There was news last month that Toshiba was planning to release a Blu-ray player.

The news was interesting because Toshiba was the father of the HD DVD standard, which was intended to be an opponent of Blu-ray. However, after a long struggle, the blues won and Toshiba was forced to announce that it was giving up the fight.

In light of the history, it is an interesting but not unexpected move for Toshiba to request a share of the Blu-ray market, as this market is growing nicely, so logically no manufacturer can afford to miss out on any conflict.

The company applied to join the BDA (Blu-ray Disc Association) yesterday. Their goal is to launch products that support the Blu-ray platform. These products also cover the entire home consumer electronics and PC segment. We are still waiting for the official announcement of the new products, but it is certain that they will be.
