The PS3 finished again before the Xbox 360
February sales figures for consoles.
According to statistics from market research firm NPD Group, the PlayStation 3 after January ahead of the Xbox 360 in the North American console market in February:
- Nintendo DS: 587 pcs
- Nintendo Wii: 432 pcs
- PlayStation 2: 351 pcs
- PlayStation 3: 280 pcs
- Xbox 360: 254 pcs
- Sony PSP: 243 pcs
Jack Tretton, president of Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA), looks to the future with confidence. There is every reason for this, as the Blu-ray victory as well as the one coming on March 28th Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, promised for June 12 Metal Gear Solid 4: The Guns of the Patriots and debuted on April 29th Grand Theft Auto IV both are names that make the PlayStation 3 take precedence over the Xbox 360. Add to that the fact that Rockstar Games will also appear on the Microsoft console, but the other two titles are PS3-exclusive.
