Lenovo has introduced its new workstation

Lenovo has announced the new ThinkStation E31 workstation, designed for professionals who require high performance for their work but don’t want to spend their entire budget on it.

The E31 is available in a traditional tower or small form factor (SFF) housing. In either case, you can choose from the latest Intel Xeon E3 processors, complemented by fast memory and advanced graphics capabilities. 

“The ThinkStation E31 is an ideal choice for small and medium businesses or professionals who generally prefer desktops but need the extra performance a workstation delivers,” said Robert Herman, Lenovo Workstation Business Unit for Products and Vertical head of solutions. "With support for the latest performance-intensive software, the ThinkStation E31 allows companies to harness the power of their PCs without having to rob a bank."

Strength and smooth performance
The Tower or SFF-designed ThinkStation E31 works with an Intel Xeon E3-200 v2 or Core processor, which provides a solid foundation for running applications quickly and reliably, as well as keeping downtime due to failure. The error correction code (ECC) memory used by the workstation essentially eliminates memory-related failures, while the 1600 MHz DDR3 DIMMs provide an excellent backdrop to reduce application response time and do not expect slowdowns when running programs at the same time.

Both models have professional graphics capabilities. Intel HD Graphics P4000 or NVIDIA Quadro 4000 are available as options in the tower version, while Q600 graphics controller is available in the SFF version. Workstations can also handle high storage requirements thanks to their two SATAIII and two SATAII ports, but eSATA connectivity is also possible with a PCI adapter cable. Comes with Windows 7 Professional, the ThinkStation E31 supports applications from engineering, design to financial services from a number of independent, professional developers such as AutoDesk, Dassault, PTC and Siemens.

Sustainable green computer
The workstation is environmentally conscious, capable of efficiencies of up to 92 percent. It is Energy Star 5.2, EPEAT Gold and GREENGUARD certified and can be used with the 80 Plus Platinum power supply, saving energy and keeping the workstation temperature lower. The latest SFF (11L) space-saving solution makes the machine an ideal choice for smaller offices.
