The best processors
From time to time, TechSpoton introduces the best desktop processors available on the market. It has been almost 18 months since the last recommender, but now it was time to upgrade!
There’s always a lot of hustle and bustle in this segment of hardware, which is why it’s interesting that for nearly a year and a half, the editors didn’t feel like the list of best processors should be updated. The reason is understandable at the same time, as Intel's processors were dominant, washing away all AMD's claim to the throne. However, the situation has changed since the Ryzen series arrived last month, and that upset all the calculations.
Ryzen 7, for example, has made Intel’s Broadwell-E series completely pointless at its current price. The base model for the A Ryzen 7 1700 costs just $ 330. Because of this, and of course its performance, it sent the $ 1050 Core i7-6900K into the virtually pointless category, not to mention the $ 1650 6950X.
Then there’s the Ryzen 5, which battles Intel’s Kaby Lake architecture, and the price of the latter would have to be drastically reduced to stay in competition with AMD’s 6-core proc, which also has fairly good tuning potential. The results on the net show that 4 GHz is also available with factory cooling, which promises decent performance.
In addition to muscle colosses, Intel can kick the ball with the best value for money processor. According to TechSpot editors, the Intel Pentium G4560 3,5 GHz Socket 1151 processor deserved the victory here.
