Foxconn is preparing for the next AMD South Bridge

The first SB700 specimens were completed.

The chip set family 7, which will be part of the Spider platform, will soon be able to get the No. 7 south bridge. The SB600 is expected to retire early next year, despite the fact that new chipsets are only just beginning to infiltrate the market in larger quantities.

First, Foxconn has announced its preparations for the SB700, plans are said to be ready, but to maintain the previously defined product cycle, motherboards with new southern chips are not expected until the first quarter of 2008.
