Hitachi is also recalling Sony laptop batteries

After Dell, Apple, Toshiba, Lenovo / IBM, Matsushita / Panasonic and Fujitsu, Hitachi will also join the battery recall campaign.

Although Hitachi has not experienced any fires so far, nor has it received a customer report to that effect, it has decided to replace about 16 laptop batteries, of course, completely free of charge. The case concerns Flora 210W and Flora SE210 laptops sold in Japan.

Dell is forced to replace the largest share (7,5 million) of the 4,2 million Sony units that have been recalled so far. Among the major notebook manufacturers, only HP has not yet joined the action, as they believe that the batteries in their machines are completely safe. If their "opinion" were to change in the future, the number of Sony products in need of replacement would easily exceed 10 million, if all companies were combined.
