Gulftown is replacing the Intel Core i7

Intel is about to change its bandwidth.

Gulftown, the successor to the Intel Core i7, is made with 32-nanometer manufacturing technology, has six physical cores, can run 12 logical threads via HT (Hyper-Threading) technology, has a tertiary cache size of 12 MB, a built-in memory controller with three channels, similar to its predecessor. it is also compatible with motherboards equipped with the Intel X3 chipset. Top-of-the-line desktop processors from the Westmere family of 58-nanometer CPUs, the LGA32-encapsulated Gulftowns, are expected to begin their careers early next year.
