Has DFI found its way into the refrigeration market?

A refrigerator called Lanparty comes in a twin-tower design.

Recently, information has been received about the Lanparty branded refrigerator, which means that DFI is also entering the refrigeration market. The first model has a twin-tower structure, which is connected by six heat pipes. This robust size and shape makes installation somewhat difficult (requires a separate mounting frame), making it relatively difficult for the average user.

The pictures show that the DFI's own packaging does not include a fan, but based on the incisions in the rib edges, one or two air vents, presumably in sizes 120 or 140 mm, can be safely fitted.

No further details were known so far, however, thanks to a tab, we found out that this is probably not a DFI product of our own design, but a DFI dressing of Prolimatech’s Megahalems model. Well, if our assumption is true (and this is very likely), then the product will have the following parameters:

  • Rib dimensions: 130 mm (H) × 74 mm (W) × 158,7 mm (W)
  • Rib weight: 790g
  • Heat pipes: 6 mm × 6 pieces
  • Recommended fan: 120 mm × 120 mm × 25 mm
  • Recommended speed: 800 ~ 1200 RPM
  • Recommended noise level: below 26 dBA
  • Air transport: 57 CFM
  • Installation position: "face" towards the rear system fan

The ring of the name Megahalems is very similar to Nehalem, well this similarity is also reflected in the fact that in addition to the LGA 775, the cooler can also be mounted on the LGA 7 socket, which receives the latest Core i1366 processors. We do not yet have information on the expected price of the Lanparty edition, but Megahalems is available abroad for around 60 euros.
