Processor cooling newcomers from Nexus
With a piece of aluminum and a piece of copper, the Nexus is trying to get back on the cutting edge.
The Dutch Silence Brigade today unveiled two new coolers, this time designed for our hot-headed central units. The XiR-2300 and XiR-3500 are almost identical, the only difference being the material used in their manufacture. While the Type 2300 has a forest of aluminum slats, the Model 3500 has been given a full copper construction.

From the also copper-based sole, four pipes, each 6 mm thick, conduct heat to the slats, which are ventilated by a 92 mm fan. It can have a maximum speed of 2500 rpm, which emits about 24 dB of noise. In most cases, however, we can expect quieter operation, as the small air agitator also contains a temperature sensor diode.
There will be no problem with XiR coolers in terms of processor compatibility, and in addition to the latest sockets from Intel and AMD, the K8 can also be boldly mounted on S754 headunits. Hopefully we can take a closer look at one in a few weeks.
