Citrix says you can run Windows 7 on your Apple iPad

Software company Citrix says it is likely that enterprising iPad owners will be able to use Apple’s new product in several ways when they get it in March.

The assumption is that we will be able to run other operating systems in a virtual environment, including Microsoft Windows 7 (but not all editions). Software developed by Citrix already runs on both iPhones and iPod Touchs and allows the user to virtually connect to other machines from that device. The company is proud to announce on its blog that the iPad will be more than suitable to use this program.

The iPad will come with a 9,7 ”display with a resolution of 1024 × 768 that will work perfectly with VDI XenDesktop. Windows applications run unmodified and securely in the database.
