Blu-ray discs are read only by the Lite-On optical drive
A combined drive has been announced by Lite-On.
The optical drive, codenamed iHES206, reads BD-R / RE / ROM media at 6x speed, but can also write DVDs, as follows:
- DVD +/- R: 16 ×
- DVD +/- R DL: 8 ×
- DVD + RW: 8 ×
- DVD-RW: 6 ×
- DVD-RAM: 12 ×
Lite-On is asking for 139 euros (about 34 thousand forints) for a drive that also knows the LightScribe technology, and will start selling it next month.
