Why do you need a fan in a PC?
CompuLab asked itself the question and then answered it. We like their answer.
The Israeli-based company has been dealing with passively cooled computers since 2007, but they can still challenge themselves. Their latest invention is the Airtop2 Inferno, a surprisingly powerful gaming machine:

- Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080
- 64 GB DDR4 2400 RAM
- 2 × NVMe + 4 × 2.5 inch SSD / HDD
- 2 × USB 3.1 + 7 × USB 3.0 dual LAN | front (and rear) audio jack connector

All components of the machine omit active cooling and therefore offer completely silent operation. Born from the Airtop2 conversion, Inferno has 50% more cooling capacity, according to CompuLab - the internal airflow has become quite efficient even without air agitators. Thanks to the latter, we have been able to send powerful components such as the Core-i7 7700K and GeForce GTX 1080 to the battlefield. Other components are planned to be selected, presumably with more modest parameters.
A novelty is the two side heat dissipating surfaces.
Az Airtop2 Inferno he also flashed some impressive numbers (Unigine Heaven 4, 3DMark), based on which the performance is at the expected level, although we would not yet draw far-reaching conclusions from this. The machine will start its career on Kickstarter on Saturday, hopefully even more details (pricing, configurations) will be revealed by then.
