The latest Wind netbook will hold a souffle for 9 hours

There are indications that MSI is about to hit another blow to the competition.

Although the device will be called the much-suspected U110 ECO Wind, this time the economy is unlikely to be embodied in the purchase price. The greatest virtue of the product is the significantly reduced consumption, as a result of which the device can remain in operation for up to nine hours. The Intel Atom Z530 processor and the Poulsbo US15W chipset, also developed by Intel, are primarily responsible for the low power consumption; the pair, also known as Intel Menlow, promises more efficient energy use than ever before. Also good news is that this time, graphics acceleration is not provided by any GMA variant, but by the significantly more powerful ATI Mobility Radeon HD3200 coming back from under the cover. Of course, it would be a mistake to expect wallpaper-breaking performance from this model as well, but the power dormant in the entry-level solution may be sufficient for basic multimedia tasks. Remaining on the issue of display, the 10-inch LCD panel, which again has a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels, is definitely worth mentioning. True to tradition, this model does not include an optical drive, so in addition to the 160 GB hard drive, we can only use a multi-format card reader to store our data.
