The first domestic Merci stands at HUF 9,5 million

Fans flooded the country’s largest auction portal to strike down the first Mercedes-Benz B-Class passenger car made in Hungary.

It was already decided at half-time that this would be Vatera’s most successful charity auction to date. Mercedes-Benz will offer the full proceeds of the bid, which runs until April 21, to the International Child Rescue Service. The currently leading bid of HUF 9,5 million at the auction is almost HUF 6 million higher than the previous record of the largest domestic auction portal.

The popularity of the auction is characterized by the fact that the Jupiter red Mercedes-Benz has received 194 bids to date, and nearly 25 users have visited the auction website. The increased interest is not accidental: the vehicle is not only attractive due to its special equipment and technical parameters, but the winner of the bid will also be able to say that he became the first Hungarian Mercedes-Benz to be sold. Thanks to the active bidders, the auction, which lasted until April 21 - with the current leading bid of HUF 9,5 million - broke the record of previous charity charity auctions by half. The former “top holder” was the “With Ice Against Water” auction series held in the summer of 2010, when more than HUF 2,5 million of hockey relics went to the firefighters of Szendrőd participating in the flood rescue at that time.

The current auction is part of the introduction of Daimler AG's road safety program called MobileKids: the domestic Mercedes-Benz manufacturer and the brand's representative office offered the first car rolled off the Kecskemét assembly line to the program's domestic sponsor, the International Child Rescue Service. The aim of the organization is to embrace physically and mentally disabled, orphaned and other children in need, to improve their living conditions, and to lay the foundations for their future. Vatera, Hungary's leading online marketplace, will provide the technical background needed to conduct the bid starting on April 1, starting from HUF 1.

The marketplace has been organizing regular charitable auctions since 2008. So far, a total of more than 50 charity auctions have been run on the portal, of which about HUF 21 million has been raised for the supported organizations.
