The Sapphire Radeon 6 Toxic comes with 7970GB of VRAM

Sapphire unveiled various AMD Radeon HD 7900 and 7800 series cards at CeBIT. The most exciting of all is the Radeon HD 7970 Toxic.

There are memory chips on both sides of the PCB with a total capacity of 6 GB. The default BIOS sets the GPU clock to 1100 MHz, but a switch can be used to increase this by another 50 MHz. Engineers touched not only on the amount of memory chips, but also on its speed. The pace recommended by AMD has been significantly exceeded, creating a 6 GHz operating frequency. Of course, the memory chips on the back also got the cooling they needed.

After targeting the absolute high-end category, Sapphire also thought of shoppers with thinner wallets. The company has made several versions of the Radeon HD 7970, 7950, 7870 and 7850 video cards. Through more efficient cooling, we managed to pick up a fair pace from the base as well. The Radeon 7970 OC (and the Toxic version) has a dual BIOS that allows you to set the clocks to 950 or 1000 MHz.
