5 + 1 special phone from China - September 2018

Do you still think the Chinese phone is crappy? It's time to break away from the Samsung and Apple logos!

 5 + 1 special phone from China - September 2018

Introductory

I think this fall and early next year will be especially interesting for those who like Chinese mobiles. It’s likely that notch-mania will leave you down and you can finally get real, full-fledged phones with a frameless display on all four sides. To do this, we can finally find all the fingerprint sensors hidden under the front glass in practice and the sliding back panels (or pull-down front panels, depending on where we look) return, and these also seem to solve the problem of front camera cameras, ie where to plug them. so that it does not hang in the picture.

However, as long as these new and extremely attractive phones for me appear, it will take a few more weeks, but it may be a few months, but as they say, what is delayed is coming, that is, you know the real coolness early next year it will no longer be the notch!

So now we’re still waiting a bit, but in the meantime, we’re showing five, more specifically six, mobiles that are surprising, beef good, plus beautiful. Now that the Christmas shopping season is approaching, manufacturers are launching new mobiles for something different, and I’m in the enviable position of not having to hunt for the right handsets, in fact, it’s more a question of which with a sore heart, but which one to miss. . This task now proved so difficult that I was forced to add +5 mobile to the top 1 list.

As usual, I will be moving from cheaper to more expensive.

1. Xiaomi Black Shark 8 + 128 GB - 160 thousand forints

You didn’t think Xiaomi’s horribly rough, gaming phone would be the cheapest piece on the list, did you? I didn't think so either. This cheapness shows two things, one is that Xiaomi's pricing policy is terribly rough, because even though this mobile is 160 thousand forints, the hardware in it is worth more than that, according to the competition.

Black Shark 1

Let's see briefly what you need to know about Xiaomi's shark! On the one hand, it has the roughest mobile processor currently available, the Snapdragon 845, and on the other hand, it's not the most interesting thing. The Snapdragon 845 is found in many phones, but it has a cooling system like the Black Shark doesn’t have much from other manufacturers. As we are used to in the PC world, in well-tunable machines, cooling the processor is one of the roughest solutions to use the CPU at the highest possible clock speed. In the case of telephones, this is no different, so much so that a SoC, ie the central chip with the processor integrated in it, can heat up quickly, and in this case, without damaging it, it automatically takes the clock down. So in order to use it at the highest clock for a long time, we need to put brutal cooling on it. And Xiaomi packed a brutal chill into the shark.

Black Shark 2

The mobile also performs well in other capabilities. It has plenty of memory and storage, it has three cameras, a 20- to 12-megapixel combo on the front and a 20 + 5,99-megapixel combo on the back. It has a huge XNUMX-inch display with FHD + resolution, and you can get a physical joystick with Bluetooth connectivity in addition to the phone, which is more like a half gamepad because it’s more like stuff.

So the Xiaomi Black Shark is a really interesting phone, the price is also interesting, but anyone who wants a real, terribly powerful and rugged gamer phone will find this edition worth it.

2. AGM X2 - 165 thousand forints

The AGM X2 stands out a bit from the line of phones listed here. It’s a little weaker than these, but it has one feature that makes it all stand out, and that’s IP68 water and dust resistance, and of course the rubberized housing. So look at the AGM X2 as having extra strong hardware inside and a blood strap phone outside, and these virtues rarely go hand in hand.

AGM X2 1

The central unit of the AGM phone is a Snapdragon 653 SoC with an eight-core processor. We need to know about the Snapdragon 653 that it strengthens the mid-range top in Qualcomm’s offering. Eight cores are trapped in two clusters, with Cortex-A53 at the bottom and Cortex-A72 at the top. These are fairly powerful processor cores, plus the clock is properly punctured and can run up to 1,95 GHz depending on the load.

There are no less than 6 GB memory and 128 GB built-in storage. I think that's what's going to be all right now. The display does not look bad either, with an 5,5 colos, FHD, 1920 x 1080 pixel AMOLED panel. If that is not enough, look at the battery, which is no less than the 6000 mAh capacity. Then you will be away for a few days in the jungle without a plug.

AGM X2 2

AGM has installed cameras that would become an honor for any phone, and in a rugged phone they are thinning their mates. The front camera is 16 megapixels and the rear has two 12 megapixel sensors under the optics. Of course, we can find all kinds of sensors, so you can’t miss the compass, accelerometer, gravity sensor, gyroscope, or fingerprint reader.

We won't have any complaints about the radios either. Of the satellite navigation systems, it supports GPS, GLONASS and BDS. We get fast wifi and Bluetooth, as well as all kinds of radios for broadband internet, with which we can use LTE connection anywhere in the world, of course, only if there is one at that point. The B20 800 MHz used in Hungary could not be left out either.

3. OnePlus 6 - 168 thousand forints

I still like the OnePlus phones, although I haven’t used any of them for a long time. I’ve taken a few in my hand and I have to say that these mobiles are quite on top in terms of quality. Xiaomi’s greater awareness is perhaps only due to better business policies and more aggressive pricing, even if OnePlus were able to do so, their phones could be competitive with Xiaomi’s handsets.

OnePlus 6 1

The new six-series is the company’s current strong phone, which of course includes the Snapdragon 845. It’s currently the most powerful tile on the market, and a manufacturer that gives itself something can’t afford not to launch at least one phone equipped with this Qualcomm miracle. The OnePlus 6 is available with a number of memory and storage builds, and the phone included in this recommendation has a capacity of 8 + 256 GB. Untig is enough for everything, in fact, it will be enough for a while, and feel free to understand years on a good piece.

OnePlus 6 2

OnePlus has been strong in cameras so far, and now it's no different. The front panel features a 16-megapixel self-timer camera and a 16 + 20-megapixel combo on the back, which also has optical and electronic vibration damping, the latter being used by the self-help camera, headed up using a gyroscope signal. The large number of pixels is not enough to take good pictures, it also requires good optics. The cameras of the OnePlus 6 have received exceptionally high-quality f / 1.7 aperture optics, which promises that we will be able to take usable quality images even in low light conditions.

4. Blackberry KEY 2 - 190 thousand forints

The Blackberry has finally revived after many years of agony. The company has a long-term deal with TLC in China - we also answered the question of why Blackberry is a Chinese phone - and this pretty much means that the Chinese make the phones, they can use the brand name, but in practice the name remains the parent company and they can also exercise tight control over hardware and software. It’s hard to tell if it’s just a sprinkling of reassurance to reassure customers, or indeed it is, but anyway, Chinese companies have proven countless times that it can bring Western standards, just think of the Lenovo-IBM covenant, even though it wasn’t today. . So, if Lenovo was able to take over the IBM ThinkPad in full, TLC, one of the world’s largest phone makers, would also be able to produce high-quality Blackberry mobiles.

BlackBerry KEY 2 1

KEY 2 can be considered a continuation and further development of the successful KeyONE. The buttons on the physical keyboard have been expanded so you can type with fewer errors, but the phone hardware has also been replaced, now one of my favorite chipsets, the Snapdragon 660, is working on it. The mobile also got 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The display has a rather strange resolution and aspect ratio due to the physical keyboard. The image is 4,5 inches and the resolution is 1620 x 1080 pixels.

The other capabilities of the phone are also amazing, from the sensor that is packed in it, only the very extra things like infrared face recognition and the fingerprint sensor under the glass are left out. The latter is housed in the space key on the physical keyboard anyway.

BlackBerry KEY 2 2

So the bottom line is that a bitang good phone has been launched under the Blackberry name, so those who can’t break away from the physical keyboard can take home strong hardware wrapped in a quality aluminum alloy casing if they ring the pepper purchase price for it.

5. Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition

The flagship of Xiaomi's flagship. Okay, there’s a bit of a picture blur, but it’s hard to describe the top edition of the top phone differently, which then really included all the good things on earth that could have gotten into a top phone today.

Xiaomi Mi 8 1

The Mi 8 Explorer Edition was the first Android phone to receive its debut infrared 3D face recognition on the iPhone X, which can be used in the dark or even in the sun with sunglasses on our heads.

Of course, there are also plenty of extras, such as a fingerprint reader hidden under the front panel glass, or a camera supported by artificial intelligence, which can currently detect 206 different situations so you can automatically adjust the settings that best suit the scene.

Of course, the hardware isn't weak anyway, here we find the Snapdragon 845, plenty of memory and storage, OMALED display. Foam on the cake is the world’s first dual radio navigation system that allows the phone to shoot our position more accurately than ever before. And the coolest thing is the transparent back cover under which the electronics are visible, or at least a plate that looks like electronics. Anyway, it still looks damn good!

Xiaomi Mi 8 2

The Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition is unfortunately not cheap, but we didn’t expect it to be. Whoever pays the pepper price for it will own a really special, special and unique phone, one that will not be too often encountered on Váci Street.

+1 Blackview BV9500 Pro - 133 thousand forints

How can a Blackview phone get on this list - you can ask and the question is completely legitimate. Blackview is not the manufacturer that used to brave in the expensive category. The BV9500 Pro is the cheapest phone on this list anyway, and it didn’t come here because it would be so hot. However, he has some abilities that I found interesting and I didn’t have the heart to miss.

Blackview BV9500 Pro 1

The Blackview BV9500 Pro is not a weak device at all, this is what the MediaTek Helio P23 takes care of. The P23 is a relatively new development, with the first mobiles built around it appearing this spring. It has eight cores, with a maximum clock speed of 2,5 GHz, so it splits properly. The manufacturer intended it to be in the middle category, where it will stand its ground fairly. It supports everything you need, from advanced cameras through a plethora of LTE bands, so we can safely say we won’t have a problem with SoC.

But we won’t have a problem with the display either, which is a 5,7-inch FHD + resolution IPS panel, and we won’t have a problem with memory and storage either, as the former 6 has a capacity of 128 GB. The only thing we can complain about is the quality of the cameras because although the 13 megapixels on the front are good, the 16 + 0,3 megapixels on the back are a bit poor, though at least the main camera is a Sony product (IMX298), so it can’t be really crap.

Blackview BV9500 Pro 2

Why did this phone get here after all, even though nothing remarkably good has been included so far? Well, I have three reasons why I couldn’t miss it.

  1. IP69K dust and water protection in addition to impact protection.
What does IP69K protection mean in practice? Not only diving, but also high-pressure water protection comes with the phone. During the test, a jet of water at a pressure of 100 bar must be able to withstand without soaking, so that the jet is sprayed every 30 seconds from a cyclically changing direction. During the test, the device receives 14-16 liters of water per minute at a pressure of 100 bar and a temperature of 80 degrees Celsius. The impact protection guarantees that when dropped from a height of 1,8 meters, the phone will continue to operate without damage. Brutal!
  2. 10 mAh battery.
In my experience, a battery of this capacity can operate the phone for 7-10 days on a single charge under normal use. On rugged phones like the Blackview BV9500 Pro, gaming isn’t the main activity anyway, so to have a phone call sometimes in extreme conditions, or maybe navigate if you’re lost, will have plenty of capacity.
  3. Walkie-Talkie mode
No field strength, but don't you want to lose each other? Here’s the solution, take two Blackview BV9500 Pros and use them as a walkie-talkie. There is no need to pay a minute fee and lay eggs on it if there is no field strength. You don't have to if you have a cell phone like this!

Are you saying that's not enough? Okay I'll go on!

  • Gorilla Glass 5? There is!
  • 500 nit brightness? Van!
  • Wireless charging? Van!
  • Fast charging? Van! (Zero to zero in 3,5 hours!)
  • NFC? There is!
  • Barometer? That's it!

And of course there is also GPS and GLONASS, electronic compass, gyroscope, fingerprint sensor, LTE radio for use all over the world, etc., etc., etc.

Maybe now you understand why I couldn’t miss this phone from this month’s list! He's got amazing abilities, he really covers everything I've seen so far, and compared to that, the purchase price of 133 thousand forints doesn't seem so much anymore!

Closing Remarks

I can only hope that you are also happy with this month's performance. As I wrote, there are plenty of phones left out of the list, if there was one that you thought was a mistake to miss, please write in a comment, but also which device you would replace with the one of your choice. We try to make phones in all selections that are 1. preferably GLOBAL versions, 2. Get to know the home B20 800 MHz LTE band. If a telephone is found that does not meet at least the second point, it is indicated in the description.

This month’s selection was also selected from the huge selection of our favorite Chinese store, GearBest. If you buy from GearBest, use the EU Priority Line or Priority Line shipping methods, with which the merchant promises to receive the ordered product duty and VAT free.

If you haven’t already purchased from GearBest, read this article: So buy in major Chinese stores
