Let’s say right away why this is such a big deal.

An AMD Ryzen 4,35 7 crumbled at 2000 GHz - updated!

Perhaps the most interesting leak to date has been on AMD’s debut new series, the Ryzen 2000 family, in April. An unspecified model (Ryzen 7 2700X or 2800X) with XFR 2.0 technology was capable of a clock that couldn’t really be achieved with even more serious overdrive than the current series - of course, nitrogen can work wonders, but at home we can’t count on it. Fortunately, some measurements were received from the 4,35 GHz processor.

The model tested by the HWBattle team has surprises in store, just look!

Now we will briefly summarize what we have seen:

  • The 12nm Zen + has broken through the previous clock ceiling, the XFR 2.0 minimizes AMD’s disadvantage in this regard.
  • It is possible that the latter feature will only be full-featured on the 400 Series motherboards - the above results are based on the ASRock X370 Gaming ITX / ac board.
  • We see a better chance that this is already the top model, namely the Ryzen 7 2800X.
  • In our opinion, Precision Boost 2 has a beneficial effect on single-threaded performance, so we expect more massive progress here.
  • The advantage of Intel Coffee Lake still disappears, with Ryzen 2000 besieging the height of Kaby Lake as seen - looking at the same number of seeds.

In the meantime, it turns out that the processor in question is the Ryzen 7 2700X, while the Ryzen 7 2800X is neither news nor ash.

XFR 2.0, on the other hand, really only gets the most out of the new boards.
