The editors of the member magazines of the European Image and Sound Association (EISA) meet every year to choose the best, most exciting products of the period after a multi-day consultation. The awards are decided by a panel of independent experts made up of editors from more than 20 leading magazines in 50 countries. The awards recognize advanced technology and features, as well as product design that represents real value, but EISA only considers its own considerations when making decisions.

Europe Desktop Speaker 2011-2012 - Bowers & Wilkins MM-1

We can’t go wrong with the Cambridge 751BD universal player, which is a complex platform for playing CDs, DVDs, SACDs, DVDs and BDs, including providing 3D capabilities, for just € 1300. The processor can decode all Dolby and DTS HD audio formats, while the built-in QDEO upscaling system also provides us with a particularly high quality picture on the HDMI output. The 751 BD receives a number of other connected units. Danish speaker specialist Dali uses cast aluminum instead of wood to create his ultra-novel and elegantly shaped speakers. The shape and visual world are not only pleasing to the eye! In addition to high stability and rigidity, curved surfaces also serve to minimize internal reflections. The Fazon 5 isn’t just about pretty looks. In the speakers, Dali uses its already well-proven paper-based speakers and tweeters with a lightweight dome. The speakers are available in bright black, white and red. The JBL Studio190’s “Weave” design is sure to make it easy to stand out from its peers. Europe 3D Home Cinema Solution 2011-2012 - LG 55LW650S + HLX56S
This year, EISA has paired two LG products that we believe complement each other and provide a market for a new home theater band. The LG 55LW650S TV uses passive 3D technology. This in itself provides an advantage over users of active systems. Passive glasses are fluffy, relatively inexpensive, and don’t even require power, so they’re the easiest way to watch 3D movies, family screenings, or watching sporting events together. However, comfort is not the only reason the choice fell on the 55LW650S. The 3D image display of the device is very true to nature, there is little crosstalk between the pages, so we can watch blu-ray discs or TV shows in very high quality without eye strain. The device is very easy to set up and can easily be combined with the LG HLX56 soundbar, which also has a built-in BD player.
