More precisely, so much data has been uploaded, of course, the size of the replaced, lower-resolution maps can be subtracted from this unbounded number. The new maps cover a total of 15 million square kilometers of the world, but materials have been updated primarily in South America, Africa, Asia and Eastern Europe.

The Bing team also added an extra 800 square kilometers of Global Ortho images to the database, covering Western Europe, bringing total global Global Ortho coverage to 000 square kilometers, including 10 percent coverage in the United States. Global Ortho images are much larger and brighter than satellite images, and have a better resolution of 700 centimeters per pixel.
