The offer of Senerit Kft has been expanded with a new manufacturer, which is none other than Xigmatek, which is famous for its refrigerators. There are many interesting things in the production, which modders, those who want to tune in, and lovers of quiet machines can also brush their teeth on.
Of the 120mm versions, the base is called the HDT-S1283 and has been endowed with many interesting solutions by the manufacturer. One is the positioning of the heat pipes, because it is not the copper core that absorbs the heat, but the pipes, so it reacts faster to the load and the cooling is more efficient, this is covered by the HDT technology, ie Heatpipe Direct Touch. The other delicacy is the use of easy-snap-in rubber mounts to secure the fan and minimize vibrations. The rest of the family has inherited these features as well, so they can be a really quiet and efficient part of the system, almost every system available today, as both Intel and AMD’s palette encompasses the catcher.
HDT-S1183
An improved version of this is the Red Scorpion-S1283. The construction remained, only the fan changed and the pipes did not flaunt the copper color but were nickel plated. The air mixer is a higher speed model (1000-2200 rpm), so its noise level is between 20-30dBA, but the air delivery is serious, it can reach 100CFM. If you have a goose with fat white LEDs, it will have a nice effect on the orange paddles in the evening.
The Achilles-S1284 also rides on the new "wind", its structure has changed a little, instead of three, four heat pipes help with cooling. At the end of these, aluminum lamellas rest, accompanied by a 120 mm fan, which even really sensitive ears can't complain about, because of the low rotation speed, you can't even hear it most of the time. According to the factory data sheet, it can achieve a noise level of only 800 dBA at 1500 and 20. For practical reasons, the engineers put white LEDs in the frame here as well, let's see if the machine works. Therefore, there are not many complaints about the performance, practically every processor on the market can be an ideal choice.
You may also be familiar with the XIGMATEK HDT-D1284, which we also wrote about after its release. The design of the sole here is similar to previous models and weighed only a single gram over the Achilles (667 grams). An important advantage is the design perpendicular to the motherboard, something with a relatively high lamella, the former helps a lot in cooling the chipset and FETs, the latter guarantees that the installation will not cause a headache even in the wildest systems. You don't have to bother with the mount, it's easy to mount on all AMD and most Intel motherboards, and like the rest of the family, it fights happily with more serious processors.
The smallest size classes here are the HDT-SD964 and HDT-S963, which are equipped with a 120mm fan instead of a 92mm, which makes 1200-2800 rpm and produces a noise level of 22-30 dBA. Anyone who thinks they can’t keep up with the more serious cores they’re wrong with can be suitable companions to Core 2 Duo, Quad, and Extreme processors as well.
For those who aim to cool the vga, they also offer an alternative, the Battle-Ax VD964. In the compatibility list, the nVIDIA GeForce 8800/7900/7800/6800 series and the ATI X1950 / 1900/1800 series are supported, with the four heat pipes dissipating heat directly from the GPU as usual from the manufacturer. And how efficient is this system with its two 92mm fans? He was tested by the X-Bit labs and, most surprisingly, hit the field badly. Loaded, it was nearly 20 degrees better than the AC S1, but the Auras Fridge couldn’t keep up with that pace either, keeping the 8800GTX at 71 degrees under maximum load, not even the AC Xtreme being able to tick off its three 92mm fans.
According to Frostytech measurements, Xigmatek has also delegated two members to the top ten in the strongest chiller category, with the HDT S983 being the eighth and the HDT-S1283 the top of the podium.
