Windows Mobile 5 - Simultaneous support for different connections

Windows Mobile 5 now supports the simultaneous use of different connections.

Imagine sitting in a cafe with your Windows Mobile 5 PDA that supports WiFi (WLAN). If you are logged in with your favorite personal messaging program - better known as a messenger - you will not be disconnected from the Internet without leaving the café and the WiFi hotspot - because the GPRS (or 1xRTT, UTMS, EV-DO, etc.) connection is also active, and this is what the operating system switched to.

We have been able to do this on some level so far - with newer HTC BlueAngel ROMs, for example, when the WiFi connection is lost, the system can automatically connect to GPRS and then switch to WLAN when another hotspot appears, but it's still just one connection at a time, which is all but not continuous internet. Well, this may disappear from Monst on Windows Mobile 5, as the picture below clearly shows that it is up on GPRS and WiFin at the same time - so another reason to buy a PDA with this system.
