Windows 7 runs on Medion's latest netbook

Renowned for its innovative solutions and friendly pricing, the company is one of the first to offer a netbook with Windows 7.

As expected, after the market entry of Microsoft's latest operating system, more and more companies decide to no longer pack the age-old Windows XP with their portable computers, but instead offer them for purchase together with a version of the slightly more expensive, but significantly more modern Windows 7. This is no different in the case of Medion either, since the manufacturer's newest device with the model number "Akoya E1217" already runs the modification of Windows 7 Starter Edition.

The decision is expected to have a positive effect on the product's sales figures, since, apart from the pre-installed system, the machine cannot present many new features compared to its direct competitors: the computing capacity of the 10-inch device with a 1024 × 600 pixel resolution display is the already well-known Intel Atom N270 processor, together with approximately 1 GB of DDR2 RAM. The equipment also includes a hard drive with a capacity of 250 GB and a memory card reader, but the repertoire also includes Bluetooth, a webcam, and a Wi-Fi radio. Regarding the latter component, it should be highlighted that the unit already supports the latest "802.11/n" standard.

The recommended consumer purchase price of the Akoya E1217 is around HUF 90, which, considering the benefits of using Windows 7, is a very fair offer.
