VIVOTEK Network Video Recorder - Security, centralized
The VIVOTEK NR7401 Network Video Recorder is therefore a solution that provides easy recording to the company's network cameras, as well as allowing users (even at individually defined access levels) to monitor and record in real time. Recording can now take place on up to 9 channels, in MPEG-4 and MJPEG formats. The NR7401 offers a number of deployable features for the administrator, including alarm conditional recording, pre-programmed recording, and of course, manually controlled recording. Installing the system should not be a major problem, as the NR7401 can automatically detect and embed VIVOTEK cameras without the need for the administrator to configure them.
Elements of the finished system
In addition, the NR7401 has 4 802.3af-compatible PoE (Power over Ethernet) ports, which greatly simplifies our cabling problems. The device provides a user-friendly interface, where members with the appropriate permissions can change network settings and also control the cameras, the latter can be taken literally if, for example, we also have a Pan-Tilt model. If we embed a high-capacity hard drive (up to 1 TB) inside the NVR, it will be possible to record high-definition video streams from megapixel cameras for a long time, as we don’t have to worry about running out of available capacity. The NVR's built-in network bridge separates the network of network cameras from the primary network, thereby minimizing bandwidth loss due to the video stream.
Construction of VIVOTEK NR7401
The mains recorder also provides 4 digital inputs and a digital output in case you want to connect external sensors or alarms to the system. Finally, we should also mention the USB port to which we can connect an external storage device, which allows us to archive our recordings without having to remove the NVR's internal hard drive.

Package, appearances:
The VIVOTEK NR7401 came in a simple but nice big brown cardboard box with some information. No cicoma, no glamor, and we think that's okay. This device is for a specific, relatively narrow layer who aren’t likely to make a decision while standing at the store shelf - and especially not based on the chili-vili box.
Also, the content is only as much as is strictly necessary. Warranty card, installation disc with Installation Software 2, power cord and a fifteen-language user guide.
The appearance of the device is pleasant and demanding, but also simple, the way it should be. The house was blown to silver gray, just on the front we find a black inlay in the LED bar. We can be attentive to ventilation grilles on both sides and a fan on the back, so we don’t have to worry about ventilation. Inside, we can't say it's too crowded, we can put the hard drive in a lower frame in a frame designed for it, the power supply is on top, while on the left is the soul of the NR7401, i.e. the printed circuit board containing the controllers and other electronic elements.
