Intel's fastest six-core processor could arrive later this year
We will have to look for the new CPU under the name Core i7 990X Extreme Edition.
Intel is working on a new high-end processor based on the 32-nanometer “Gulftown” six-core chip. The three-channel memory manager and 12 megabytes of tertiary cache will, of course, be retained, but the clock will increase slightly, presumably to 3,46 GHz. Like the current state-of-the-art Core i7 980X Extreme Edition, the processor will be multiplier-free, which will come in handy for any tuning.

Thanks to the early release, the processor will be available for purchase in the fourth quarter of 2010 - previously the CPU was expected for the first quarter of 2011. The usual starting price of $ 999 in the category is guaranteed.
