IPhone games that spread the virus

Malicious programs are spreading on the Internet that try to disguise themselves as iPhone games.

Sophos has drawn attention to another trick from malware distributors. In this case, the primary target group of the attackers is iPhone owners. This is because the security company has detected the spread of unsolicited emails that are trying to convince users in a rather deceptive way that they can enrich the functionality of their device with a good little game.

According to Sophos, spam that distributes malware is usually sent to mailboxes with the following subject:

• \\ ”Apple: The most popular game!
• \\ ”\\” Virtual iPhone toys! \\ ”

And the message in the emails contains text that tries to convince users that the file in the email attachment, usually called Penguin.Panic.zip, is an iPhone game. In reality, however, this is out of the question, because if the recipient of the mail opens it, a Trojan will be installed on your computer.

Graham Cluley, an employee of Sophos, said in relation to the new type of letters and virus distribution method that games are popular among younger and older people, and attackers are trying to turn the iPhone "phenomenon" to their own advantage and use it as a "springboard". to infect computers.
