Ultramobile computer from Samsung

The electronics giant has unveiled its latest UMPC, an ultramobile computer, to the general public.

Unveiled at the Samsung Experience in New York, the Q1 Ultra UMPC (ultramobile pc) was equipped with a standard QWERTY keyboard, built-in pointing device and programmable function keys, making the new device easy to use and easy to use. We’re practically faced with a full-fledged PC alternative that might be at hand even if your notebook is just depleted or if you simply want a more practical solution.

The novelty is the Intel Ultra Mobile processor, clocked at 600 or 800 MHz, coupled with 1GB of high-speed DDR2 memory. The Q1 Ultra promises a minimum of 4,5 hours of continuous operation, which is ensured by the built-in Lithium-ion battery. It also includes an integrated 802.11b / g wireless network controller, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR controller, and an optional 3.5G HSDPA modem. Continuing the line, it is worth mentioning the 1,3 megapixel resolution webcam and the built-in microphone, which can be used for video conferencing and video calling. Coupled with a surprisingly high-resolution display, the UMPC can natively display 1024 × 600 pixels, thanks to its WSVGA (widescreen) LCD touch screen.

Q1 Ultra also supports Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows XP Tablet PC Edition. The basic model, which is already available in the United States, costs $ 799, or about 160 forints.
