For a long time, Xiaomi’s throne seemed unshakable, and while the Roborock S50 is an excellent vacuum cleaner, it’s not flawless. Sorry, I didn't put it well because it's almost flawless, but you could still polish it on the software. Among other things, the machine called 360 S6 does just that, and at some point the hardware is even better.
The Xiaomi S50's strongest weapon is clearly laser scanning. Conventional vacuum cleaners know nothing more than going from collision to collision. Meanwhile, the more advanced ones try to make a map of our apartment in their little box, but most of them are unable to do that either. However, laser mapping opens up a whole new world in the field of robotic vacuuming. The machines are able to assess the apartment in real time, "see" where the furniture and walls are, and based on this, they calculate the most optimal cleaning route in real time. It's no problem if a chair or table is moved, the machine will adapt to the change and "figure out" the new route on the fly.
The weird 360 S6 is capable of this as well, as it got a laser gun turret, just like the Xiaomi S50. Moreover, not only is he able to do this, but like Xiaomi, he is able to wipe it up - more precisely, to wipe it. Knowledge is not exhausted in this, thanks to the sponsors, it protects the feet of our furniture, touches everything carefully, we can control it from our phone, there is a carpet cleaning mode, and it is also able to clean only in an area designated in the phone application. Moreover, unlike Xiaomi, we can not only designate but also exclude certain areas from cleaning.
For me, one of the most simotic features of the new vacuum cleaner is that older maps can be reloaded, meaning the machine doesn’t have to do a full mapping every single time. I missed this feature perhaps most from the Xiaomi S50.
There are both negatives and positives to the competitor in the field of hardware. The downside is that the battery capacity is smaller, meaning you won’t be able to clean 200 square feet in one go, you’ll go back to the dock on the go to recharge yourself, then continue cleaning. The advantage, however, is that, unlike the Xiaomi S50, it has two round brushes, meaning it can collect cartilage more efficiently and from a larger area.
We haven’t spoken about the price of the 360 S6 yet. Although the price of the Xiaomi Roborock S50 is pretty slowly declining, it’s still quite expensive, usually found at just over $ 400. Luckily, we can catch a coupon that can go under $ 1 for $ 2-400, but don’t expect more than that for now. The starting price of the 360 S6 without any discount is only $ 370, which to our knowledge makes it one of, if not the cheapest, laser vacuum cleaners.
