New ASUS Blu-ray HD media players
After a long wait, ASUS desktop Blu-ray media players have been officially announced and are expected to be released in Hungary before Christmas.

ASUS 'newly released O! Play BDS-500 and BDS-700 Blu-ray media players offer the widest range of media format support in the product category, along with convenient high-definition (HD) video and audio playback, while providing native online connectivity and Wi-Fi. Fi really brings multimedia entertainment to life. The new ASUS devices also feature a number of special features, such as two HDMI and USB connectors, a user-friendly interface, gold-plated connectors, or the ability to use your smartphone as a remote control.
Outstanding HD video playback quality
Both new models include the Qdeo ™ video processing function, which reduces jitter without compromising image sharpness. Blu-ray Disc ISO and Blu-ray Disc 3D ISO (with menus) playback are fully supported, and precision DVD-HD upscaling is immediately available.

Crystal clear sound experience in the living room
The BSD-700's stereo digital-to-analog converter (DAC) has a signal-to-noise ratio of 115 decibels. Gold-plated connectors ensure that the quality remains the same throughout the life of the device, which does not age or oxidize like cheaper metal-coated parts.
The widest media format support
The BDS-500 and BDS-700 are fully compatible with 45 common formats. Formats include hi-fi audio standards such as FLAC, WAV and AIFF. By managing the NTFS file system, content larger than 4 gigabytes can be easily accessed, and external 500-inch hard disks can be connected to both the BDS-700 and BDS-2,5 without separate power.
Convenient access to online content
As an online media device, the BDS-500 comes with Wi-Fi prep, and the BDS-700 comes with a built-in Wi-Fi connection, so you can connect to your home network with automatic detection without setup complications. A host of pre-configured YouTube, Picasa, and Flickr connections, Internet radio stations, and music and video streaming services ensure shoppers can quickly access their favorite content at any time. DLNA certification further simplifies network management, and high-speed 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity allows content to be streamed wirelessly from PC to TV. Both models also feature a full-featured photo viewer to bring back fond memories from the living room.

More user-friendly features
The BDS-700 has two dedicated HDMI outputs: an HDMI 1.4 port for 3D video display and an HDMI 1.3 port for audio purposes. In addition to the higher bandwidth, which also handles certain aspects of media playback separately, the dual-connection design also means that the BDS-700 can be used effortlessly with existing audio receivers without sacrificing quality. With an intuitive and easy-to-use user interface, all features are conveniently accessible, while the two USB ports provide instant connectivity to other devices. For even greater convenience, smartphones can be used as a remote control without the need for any additional software, which not only makes it more convenient to use, but also provides a familiar terrain for users.
