Tuning-friendly Galaxy Tab built around the Intel G31

We wouldn’t necessarily expect an IGP-equipped micro-ATX board to excel in overdrive, but the Galaxy iG31MX isn’t ashamed on this front either.

Expreview staff recently announced the motherboard with Intel 's dual - core, Pentium Dual-Core E5200, and knowing that this Intel product is also very tuning-friendly, they looked for the answer to whether the Galaxy iG31MX is a partner in overclocking. The E5200 "ticks" at 2,5 GHz at idle, isn't it?—in the first step, they were wondering how long the CPU clock signal could be increased without changing the voltage (1,2 V). The following CPU-Z screenshot answers this question!

The next step could have been to increase the voltage value. They did this, the BIOS allowed a maximum of 1,36 V, then the clock signal of the Intel "brain" in question was increased to 3,68 GHz, which means a 47% increase. If we also take into account that this board can already be acquired for only 43 dollars - about HUF 7 - then it can be clearly stated that the iG31MX is worth the money.

In conclusion, it is worth summarizing the main parameters of the motherboard: Intel G31 + ICH7, Intel GMA 3100 IGP, six-channel audio, integrated network controller, 1 PCIe x16 and 1 PCI slot, 2 memory slots, 2 SATA and 1 PATA connector.
