Learn more about the Radeon HD 2900 Pro

More details have come to light about the new ATI upper-to-mid-range graphics controller.

Fudzilla reporters believe the R600 Pro GPU will have a TDP of less than 150 watts and will be equipped with 256-bit 512MB of VRAM, providing 51 Gbps of bandwidth to the core ticking at 600 MHz. The number of combined shaders is halved compared to the HD 2900 XT - that is, in this case we can talk about 160 - but this also seems to be enough to loosely put the GeForce 8600 series behind it. However, the real question is what the extra-successful GeForce 8800 GTS can offer against 320MB in performance - and let’s not forget that NVIDIA can resort to even significant price reductions as a countermeasure.
