Telenor SIM chips can be stored in thousands of online cash registers

Telenor is ready to deliver large quantities of SIM chips in a short time, which will ensure a continuous data connection between the online cash registers and the system of the National Tax and Customs Administration. The Swedish subsidiary of the Telenor Group, Telenor Connexion, which has more than a decade of experience in machine-to-machine communication, also participated in the development and testing of the system.

The testing of the SIM chips required for the operation of online cash registers and the secure data communication service implemented by them at Telenor has been completed. Thanks to the successful test period, the service provider now has a solution that provides a mobile data connection between the server of the National Tax and Customs Office and the Tax Control Unit (AEE) that will be added to the cash registers. SIM chips provided by a mobile operator with extensive experience and product portfolio in the field of machine-to-machine communication (M2M) are able to connect to and communicate through the networks of all Hungarian service providers in accordance with legal regulations.

The provider was also assisted in testing the device and the new service by Telenor Connexion, a Swedish subsidiary of the Telenor Group specializing in M2M. The company, which has been offering machine-to-machine communication solutions to its partners worldwide for 12 years, has also contributed its experience in developing the technology needed to operate cash registers.

Telenor sells SIM chips and the service they provide primarily, but not exclusively, to domestic companies through companies engaged in the manufacture, sale and operation of online cash registers. In parallel with the test period, the service provider has already concluded cooperation agreements with several such companies, and has a large volume of SIM chip sets, so that the supply of customers can be fast and trouble-free.
