The 16: 9 aspect ratio spreads

On Tuesday, May 21, both Prizma TV and Series + will switch from the traditional 4: 3 aspect ratio to the 16: 9 aspect ratio. Viewers have nothing to do with the switch, the RTL group said. As part of an ongoing process, RTL’s cable TV channels will be sequentially switching to 16: 9 aspect ratio: from December last year, RTL II, Cool and Film +, and from May 21, Prizma TV and Series + will be shown in this format. The widescreen allows for a better quality, more realistic picture, and the 16: 9 aspect ratio on the new TVs offers a greater visual experience for viewers.
