Pretty slowly everyone is cheating on Intel

The line was opened by ASRock, then came ECS and ASUS. The trick is related to Intel Haswell processors. According to the original plan, in order to overdrive the CPUs mentioned above, we would have had to have a Z8x series motherboard, so the cheaper H8x and B8x based boards would have fallen out of the circle. The screw now comes into play, as ASRock has made it possible, with a small feature, to spin over our fourth-generation Core processor in the aforementioned sheets as well.

Because the service “plays” with the CPU multiplier, it is easy to see that we need a K-series unit. Unfortunately, this significantly narrows the scope, so currently only the Intel Core i7-4770K and Core i5-4670K are suitable for this method. By setting the multiplier to the maximum, you can increase the tempo to 4,80 GHz.

Of course, the competitors didn't want to lag behind in any way, so ECS and ASUS, for example, have already announced that they can also allow processors to overclock on the right motherboards - in principle, we only need a BIOS update.
