There’s not much we can say about the Google landing page, as there’s really nothing on it other than the Google logo and the search box. It’s no coincidence that Larry Page and Sergey Brin just weren’t really at home in web editing, so they didn’t even deal with this part of the thing. Once this streamlined form came in enough for users, they wanted it to stay that way. The first scribbles were made by a Google intern, Dennis Hwang, and brought the world’s attention to the Burning Man Festival with him. After that, doodles became the design elements of the Google homepage.

When using Google, we often come across special doodles that always remind us of some important event, artist, scientist, usually on more serious anniversaries. Among them, they could already see many Hungarian characteristics, so e.g. A memory of Mihály Munkácsy or March 15, and even on June 15 this year, a drawing by a Hungarian student, Illés Kovács, appeared on google.hu. With his creation he won the first Doodle 4 Google competition in Hungary, with his work he answered the question of what Hungary means to him.

Today, Albert Szent-Györgyi was chosen by the creators of the doodle to celebrate his 118th anniversary today. This is the second Hungarian-related doodle that appears globally, so anyone in the world who visits Google today can see it, regardless of the domain. The first such doodle appeared on the main page of the search engine on June 5 last year and remembered Gábor Dénes on the 110th anniversary of his birth.
