Summit was named OCZ by its latest SSD family

OCZ Technology is planning to introduce another SSD family.

OCZ entered the SSD market in January 2008, when it was then disguised first flash drive, followed by newer series: Core Series, Solid Series, Vertex Series, Apex Series.

Another SSD family will soon be added to OCZ's product range: the 2,5-inch Summit series drives come with 60, 120 or 250 GB capacity, the smallest with just 32 cache, the rest with 64 MB cache, and the MLC-type Samsung chips with SATA 3.0 Gb / s interface, data can be written at a maximum rate of 172 MB and read at up to 208 MB / s.

The Summit Series will go on sale in March: the 60GB 249, the 120 499, the PC Perspective and a 250GB model that has passed its test bench will be available for $ 999.
