Shuttle: computer into the car!

Shuttle unveiled its car-mounted personal computer, the CarPC, at CeBIT.

With a size of 28 × 23 × 7 cm, the CarPC is designed by Shuttle to withstand all external influences - temperature, vibration - that can occur in a car while traveling: accordingly, it is stable at temperatures of up to 35 degrees Celsius, and thanks to its special design, the hard drive can withstand 2 Gs acceleration.

The special power supply is extremely resistant to voltage fluctuations - 10,6-16 V -, which is also required to withstand the loads that occur when starting the car, and is set so that the CarPC also switches off automatically when the engine is stopped.
