Seagate DAVE: portable hard drive for mobiles

The Seagate DAVE is essentially a portable hard drive that communicates with your mobile device over a Wi-Fi 802.11b / g or Bluetooth 2.0 connection.

Initially available in 10 or 20 gigabytes, the DAVE (Digital Video Audio Experience) hard drive measures 61 × 89 × 12 mm and weighs 70 grams, making it not only smaller but much lighter than most foldable mobiles today.

Recommended for storing documents, music, photos, videos and games, the lithium-ion battery provides up to 10 hours of continuous data transfer, while standby time can be up to 14 days.

Debuting in the second half of 2007, DAVE is an open platform, which means any software development company can build applications for it, and the Seagate media packaged with the devices will be marketed under the brand name of the mobile manufacturer or service provider.
