Seagate 7200.9 Barracuda Update

The Seagate 7200.9 Barracuda product line has undergone minor modifications.

According to DailyTech, the changes will affect the 40, 80, 120 and 160 GB models. As a result, their thickness has been changed from the previous 26 mm to 20, which is said to allow quieter operation and even more favorable air movement, thereby reducing the noise emitted by the hard drive and the heat generated. Of course, the size reduction also makes the device lighter, so instead of the older 0,5kg weight, such a HDD weighs only 366 grams on the scales.
