Sony's latest multimedia computer is a touch

VAIO L-series devices can be used as living room decorations.

Sony is by no means a new competitor in the market of "all-in-one" machines, but until now, the manufacturer did not have a model that included a touch-sensitive display. This situation changes with the introduction of the VAIO L series, which, true to Sony's tradition, can conquer not only with its elegant appearance but also with its performance.

This time, the VAIO L series includes several configurations with different equipment levels, however, the Intel processor, the graphics subsystem from the NVIDIA workshop, the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth radios, and the 24-inch, a touch-sensitive "X-Black" display is always part of the machine's specification.

The company's cheapest and, accordingly, weakest member is marketed with the model number "VPCL111FX/B": the device, which will enter the market at a purchase price of $1299,99 (HUF 240), includes, among other things, an Intel Pentium E5400 central unit, 4 GB of system memory, 320 GB of it also includes a hard drive and an optical drive for reading Blu-ray discs. The exact type of the unit responsible for graphic acceleration is currently shrouded in darkness, however, the existence of 512 MB of VRAM should be treated as a fact.

The most powerful configuration of the series is called "VPCL117FX/B": the heart of the device, which can be purchased for approximately $2000 (HUF 370), is an Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400S processor, which serves in the company of 6 GB of system memory. The equipment also includes a hard drive with a capacity of 1 TB, as well as a TV tuner, as well as an optical drive suitable for writing Blu-ray discs. In this case, the graphics acceleration is also provided by an NVIDIA solution, but the exact type of the subsystem was not announced by the manufacturer. In addition to the above, the presence of the HDMI input should be highlighted, through which even a PlayStation 3 console can be connected to the system.
Devices equipped with a sound system supplemented with an "S-Master" digital amplifier, a remote control, and a "Motion-Eye" web camera are expected to enter the market at the same time as the debut of Windows 7.
