Rage on iPhone (with video)

John Carmack of QuakeConon showed how their Rage game runs on the iPhone.

The deservedly famous leader of id Software, John Carmack, has turned Apple’s smartphone into a true portable gaming console. The iPhone 5-optimized version of the Rage (id Tech 4 engine) has reached 60 frames per second. Carmack says the standard of display surpasses previous-generation game consoles (Xbox, PlayStation 2), which is a good example of the power of newer devices. Rage has been ported so well that the game runs on 3GS, iPad, but even 2007 2G, though not in full detail. The demo makes significant use of the id Tech 5 engine capabilities, including the Megatexture process.
