Details on Auzentech's first X-Fi chip sound card

More information has come to light about Auzentech's first sound card with an X-Fi sound processor from Creative.

As about a month ago reported, under an agreement between Auzentech and Creative, the company, which has so far only sold cards equipped with C-Media Electronics sound generators, has acquired the X-Fi sound processor and will be the first to use it on its Prelude 7.1 product.

Because it is Auzentech Prelude 7.1 it will hit store shelves within weeks, so it’s no surprise that more crumbs of information have leaked out of your sound card. Thanks to Creative’s sound processor, we get full support for the EAX 5.0 surround standard and Dolby Digital Live technology. The X-Fi CA20K chip was paired by Auzentech development engineers with a total of 64 megabytes of memory for seamless processing of audio streams.

We may have three important questions about our sound card:

  1. how much cheaper Prelude 7.1 will be than Creative X-Fi sound cards,
  2. whether or not it will lag behind the products of the technology-based company in terms of sound quality,
  3. Will it be available in Hungary?
