PlayStation 3: a major purchase for the U.S. Air Force
Three hundred PS3s were ordered by the US Air Force.
The U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory is interested in the micro-architecture of the Cell Broadband Engine, an IBM product that gives the soul of the gaming machine, but it is not yet known what purpose the U.S. Air Force is doing to study the processors.
Definitely interesting and noteworthy is the fact that the 300 40GB PlayStation 3, equipped with four USB 2.0 ports, was requested by the Air Force, although it was originally only two located on it.
