PlayStation 3: $ 499-599

A plan has recently emerged from the ranks of Sony Computer Entertainment that includes interesting information about the console and its appearance.

The plan, released in the late hours of Monday, includes Sony’s vision for the launch date of the PlayStation 3, as well as its release price. Based on these, Sony plans to launch its next-generation console in mid-November and will start at $ 499 to $ 599, depending on equipment.

The PlayStation 3 will be available on November 11 in Japan, a little later, and on the 17th in the other regions, Australia, Europe and the United States. The cheaper version, which also includes a 20 gigabyte hard drive, will cost $ 499, or approximately $ 100, while the more expensive version will cost $ 000 gigabytes of storage for $ 60 more, or $ 100. If we look at the competitor’s Microsoft Xbox 120 console, it turns out that these aren’t really competitive prices, as the Redmond giant is waiting for shoppers with $ 000 and $ 360 price tags, respectively.

However, for a larger amount, we get not only the metallic PlayStation 3 label, but also a Blu-ray drive and a wireless game controller, the latter of course being a basic requirement knowing the more equipped packaging of the competing solution. The case with the Blu-ray drive is interesting, with the cheapest desktop reader costing around $ 1, so those who just want to read Blu-ray discs can do better with their Sony console even if they’re not going to play. And this fact could tip the console war chariot in Sony’s favor, of course, it should not be forgotten that unfortunately, due to noise emissions, game consoles will never become a real opponent for more serious desktop players.

Sony also doesn’t want to repeat the mistake of introducing the Xbox 360 in the U.S. when there were too few consoles in stock to serve customers with the right number of gaming machines. To prevent this from happening, Sony will be waiting for the release with two million finished machines, and then they want to sell 2006 million by the end of 4 and 2007 million by March 6.

Thus, it is becoming increasingly clear where Sony's solution can offer more than Microsoft's salvation, but it has the undeniable advantage that it will be in operation for a full year by November, guaranteeing much more mature games and well-established Internet services.
