Pioneer DVD Burners: Download & Burn!

Pioneer immediately unveiled two optical drives that they know about the so-called Qflix DVD Download & Burn technology.

Together with Sonic Solutions, Pioneer has created the technology mentioned in the introduction, which essentially endorses the DVR-2920Q and DVR-X162Q branded Pioneer drives: Content Scrambling System (CSS) copy-protected pay-per-view movies and series can only be played by a set of optical devices that know Qflix or software that can handle it. That's why the software garnish that comes with Pioneer units is a must-have rather than a must-have for the manufacturer: the Roxio Venue suite of applications allows you to download, view, manage and archive your videos.

By definition, the internal DVR-2920Q has a SATA connection and the external DVR-X162Q has a USB 2.0 connection; the "roasters" only differ in terms of their application area (external or internal), their writing speed for each media is as follows: DVD+/-R 20×, DVD+/-R DL 12×, DVD+RW 6×, DVD-RW 8×, DVD Download (Qflix) 8×.
